Distance calculations are based on the cities listed in member profiles. If you haven't enabled location sharing, we use the coordinates of the city saved in your profile rather than your current location, as these may sometimes differ.
Please note that distance calculations are approximate due to the following factors:
- Altitude variations are not factored into distance calculations, which may affect accuracy in mountainous regions
- Distances are calculated "as the crow flies" rather than actual travel distance by road
- City coordinates are based on a central reference point (typically city hall). Therefore, two users in the same city will show 0km distance regardless of their actual locations within that city
